It’s being very hard for him to practice social distance cause he loves to play with other animals while on he’s walks outside. But cause we are living in uncertain times where this virus could attack anyone, even pets. But I take him out on his traveling bag here he is with mommy on errands. I could just sent one. He’s breed is long hair chihuahua and known as breed Papillon. He has green eyes with white and touches of brown hair. He love to eat real meet raw and bone treats. Right now he’s looking forward to catching his buddies in the streets to play but for now we practice social distance to stay healthy. 💙🐶

Submission 25: Amber

I am Amber and I enjoy spending this time relaxing with my favorite cat nip cigar and book while watching my humans work from home!

Submission 26: Kiara (Siblings with Amber!)

Hi I’m Kiara,

During my quarantine I’m enjoying long naps and cuddles with my human who’s working from home. My human wears a mask when she goes out so I got one too.

Submission 27: Fred

Fred hates social distancing because he’s such a social pup. He wants to say hi to all the other dogs instead of staying 6 feet apart! I don’t think he quite gets it. But through video chat Fred can still socialize with all his best buds. Oh, and he ‘tries’ to help his mom get some work done too. – Follow Katy and Fred on Instagram @_k2d2 (Freds mom), @fredventures_ (Fred)

Submission 28: Chewie

Chewie is the father of Zeus, his pet mommy has been a client of ours since our avenue B days!

Submission 30: Milo

Milo Everett Pollak

Ever wished upon a star? Well when we did, our teddy bear came alive. He can be seen prowling through the city. Don’t be fooled by how fluffy and soft he is because he packs a deep bark. During social distancing, Milo ensures he breaks it everyday because he knows he can’t contract the virus (as of yet) and wants to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Submission # 12

A poem by Pearl, Social Distancing Advocate

During this crazy time, we should do our part,

So please think twice when you fill your cart,

Think of your neighbors who are truly in need,

Because times are tough, but it could be worst indeed,

Practicing Social Distancing is really smart,

So remember to wear your mask and stand six feet apart

We hope everyone is safe and healthy! Thank you!

Submission # 13:

Dear ABC,

We’ve loved you for years and still love you. Here is our contest entry: Our cat, Zuzu. (When you saw her, right after we adopted her, we were thinking of naming her “Olive,” which is the name you have in your files, but right after that visit we decided to officially name her Zuzu–after Zuzu’s petals in It’s a Wonderful Life. She’s now 8 months old and healthy and eating a lot!)

In this photo, Zuzu is doing her part as I work from home. Not until I started working form home did she discover this “under the computer stand” hiding place, and she’s been there every day while I work since (when she isn’t asking to play).

Thank you for having this contest!

Submission # 14

Phineas (left) and Cheeto (right) Lind have been working on their model poses during quarantine. Cheeto really knows how to work the camera!

Submission # 15

We call her Thingy now, because she is so calm it’s preternatural.

Submission # 16

Angel. This is him social distancing under some bed sheets.

Submission # 17

Yogi was turned into a meme!

Submission # 18

Mabel, a blue heeler rescue, is dreaming of better days at the dog park with all of her four-legged friends in the East Village.

*Mabels mom also submitted an amazing video which will be posted on our social media pages!

Submission # 19

Buster is a sweetheart, but he likes to feign annoyance with that brow! He wants us to think he hates us being home all the time — couldn’t be further from the truth!

We adopted Buster from a Craigslist ad. He’s been passed around a few homes in his life but we can confidently say this will be his last! He’s funny, personable, easily angered, and a talker — the best quarantine entertainment one can ask for!

Submission # 20

I’m blaming my typos on my cat.

25% off Pet Dentals for February at ABC Animal Hospital

25% off Pet Dentals (2)

February is national pet dental month and at ABC animal hospital we continue our annual tradition of 25% off dental cleanings. Available throughout February it is designed for healthy pets aged 7 and younger. For pets older than 7 years we also have Thursdays assigned especially for 25% off senior dental cleanings. Call us soon to schedule your appointment as these slots are limited.

Read on below to see if your pet needs a dental cleaning, for details on our dental process, and  for our simple tips on good dental care.

Does my pet need a dental cleaning?

Common signs include bad breath, brown tartar, excessive drooling, and red, swollen gums. Gum disease is extremely common and causes chronic pain which pets instinctively hide to avoid showing weakness. Untreated they can be left in pain with fractured teeth, suffer from bacterial infections, and ultimately require multiple extractions before they can eat comfortably again. If you are unsure of whether your pet needs a dental cleaning – contact us at (212) 358 0785 and we can help provide some information to help you out.

What to expect for your pets dental cleaning:

Helping your pets feel better is easy. Call or come in and make an appointment. Withhold food (but not water) after 9 pm the night before your appointment. Drop your pet off at 9 am and review your cost estimate with your 25% dental discount. We’ll provide a dental exam, scaling, required extractions, and a polishing under mild sedation while your pets vital signs are carefully monitored. Later in the day, one of our staff will contact you to confirm the exact time for pick up which will be after 6pm. Finally, bring your best friend home with sparkly teeth + fresh breath who you can shower with love!

3 Tips for healthy teeth:

  1. Brush teeth regularly. Use a tasty pet toothpaste in combination with an abrasive material to thoroughly brush the teeth. (silica powder, Greenies dental chews, rawhide bones, or a gauze pad.).
    2. Use dental treats and toys for chewing, and consider a good diet for dental health. Ask us if Hills Prescription Diet t/d may be appropriate for your pet. Use treats that aren’t too hard such as raw carrots and safe rubber toys where you can hide treats inside. Do not feed hard beef or pork bones as they will fracture the molar/premolar teeth.
    3. Preventive care is the key to good health and basic dental maintenance is well worth the hassle. Ignoring dental care can lead to lots of chronic pain and costly vet care down the road.
Follow these simple guidelines and you’ll keep both you and your best friend happy!

Don’t forget that we’re offering a 25% off dental discount in February. Call us at (212) 358 0785 to schedule an appointment to drop off your pet. We hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Dr.Tufaro and staff
